I am so thrilled to share that Walking Shadows Vol. 3 has been nominated for 5 awards at the 2025 NZ Web Fest in their International Narrative section:
- Best Editing (Sally McLean)
- Best Writing (English Language) (Sally McLean)
- Best Directing (Sally McLean)
- Best Score
- Best Series (English Language)
I am gobsmacked and so grateful to be personally nominated for three awards at the fest. Just amazing and wonderful. Huge thanks to Festival Director, Keith Barclay and the NZ Web Fest team for this acknowledgement!
I love New Zealand Web Fest – it is one of my favourite fests, not least because of the way they are so inclusive for all creators who are selected each year – no matter where they are based in the world.
With online panels and screenings, as well as in-person events in Auckland and then two Award Galas in the one day – one online and one in person – the team at the fest really make sure everyone is feeling the love. One of the Award Galas is run online via video conferencing for international creators on the morning of the last day. All the creators are logged into a Zoom call (that is broadcast live via the NZ WebFest YouTube channel) and each winner can then be brought up live to give a thank you speech right there and then, no matter where they are in the world – it’s awesome. Then the second event is for New Zealand series and podcasts and held in person in Auckland.
Honestly, I think this set up is genius and I am so totally chuffed to have Walking Shadows not just selected but then also be nominated in so many categories. I can’t wait for November! Thank you again NZ WebFest – you rock!
