Sally McLean wins Best Director at the 2025 LA Web Fest in the USA

So this just happened! Over the weekend, LA WebFest took place in Los Angeles, USA and at their Awards Gala, I was named as the winner of their Best Director Award for my work on Walking Shadows Vol. 3!

So grateful to LA WebFest for this amazing result and to Millie Falconer (who played “Rumour” in the series) for attending the festival to represent myself and the team and then jumping up on stage to accept this award on my behalf! Thanks also to the fab Jennifer Monk for taking photos and videos on the ground alongside Millie and offering to bring the award home for me in her luggage!

To all my fellow nominees – you are all incredible talents, I’ve had the pleasure of watching your work on streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Netflix in the past, and to be listed among your number was a huge honour and privilege.

Huge thanks to Phil at Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia for commissioning the series and to all the HFAS grads who made up my cast (thanks for making me look good!). And to all the Swinburne students who crewed the series.

Finally, huge thanks to Sass Pinci for working in the post-production trenches with me to get this final season of the series shipshape for release as Sound Designer/Editor and the rest of my fab Incognita Enterprises team for having our backs during that time – Phoebe Taylor, Christopher Kirby & Billy Smedley – love you all.

Somewhat shocked. Totally over-the-moon. And so very grateful.
