Sally wins Best Director in a Drama at NJ Web Fest

In a total surprise and amazingly wonderful turn of events, I just found out that I have been awarded “Best Director in a Drama” at the 2024 New Jersey Web Festival in the USA for my work on “Dark Arcadia”!!

Huge thanks to the NJ WebFest Jury for this incredible honour – I am just over the moon with this news! To also have three of my talented fellow creators and friends in life and on the circuit – Wayne Tunks, Caris Vujcec and Tom Chamberlain – jump up spontaneously in the moment to accept the award on my behalf in my absence (as I sadly couldn’t be there, but never expected to win, so didn’t organise anyone to rep the series at the Awards), and speak to my work was amazing and so appreciated. (I really hope there is video of that somewhere!) All three are NJ WebFest alumni and multiple award-winners across the circuit in their own right, and I love them all dearly – thank you beautiful people for messaging me your congrats during the awards and sending photos and love from the USA – Heart. Full.

It has been a roller coaster of an 18 months, that has tested me on every level, and as some of you know, things got a bit grim here and there, but it’s moments like this, with this kind of acknowledgement from your international peers that take my breath away for all the right reasons and fill me with gratitude that I’m part of such a supportive, genuine and generous community.

Thank you New Jersey Web Festival for this amazing acknowledgement. Congratulations to all my fellow nominees in this category – it was an honour to be listed among your accomplished ranks – and thank you to my brilliant cast for making me look good and my tireless crew. Also, as always, to my core Incognita team – Billy, Phoebe, Christopher and Sass – thank you for always having my back.
