Sally McLean wins Best Director at Hollywood Series

Happy New Year everyone! This was a rather amazing way to see out 2024 and head into 2025. I am so delighted to share that I was the recepient of the Best Director (Drama) Award at the Hollywood Series in LA on New Years Eve for my work on Dark Arcadia!

Thank you so much to the Jury at the Hollywood Series Awards, which came hot on the heels of my also winning Best Director at the British Web Awards in the UK. Both these wins mean so much. I’m still pinching myself that I finished 2024 with six awards for Best Directing for this series, plus one for Best Screenplay – all from festivals in Europe, the UK and the USA. Thank you so much to all of them for this extraordinary acknowledgement of the work. So grateful.

To all those creatives struggling (as much as it may not look that way from these posts, I do understand that pain) or feeling exhausted or just wondering if it’s all worth it – I see you, hear you and am sending love to you. What you do matters. Even if it doesn’t feel like that at times.

The act of creating evokes it’s own positive energy and the world needs that more than ever. Your words, images, thoughts, vision matters. Keep shining, keep sharing, keep inspiring. Because that’s what you do when you gift your work to the world. And through that act, you give permission to others to do the same.
