“The Rogues Gallery” meets “The Bazura Project” or Web TV meets ABCTV
2011 has been a busy one for Sally so far – starting with the Summer Season of “The Comedy of Errors” as Dowsabel with the Australian Shakespeare Company in the Royal Botanic Gardens until March, then straight into researching for the documentary “Franz Stampfl: The Man Behind the Miracle Mile“, followed by filming and performing live in “The Ken & Barbie Killers” for The Rogues Gallery (an Incognita Enterprises/ Cinema Viscera co-production) in June. She then played the semi-regular role of “Lee’s Mum” (or “Mrs Zachariah” – not sure yet how she’ll be credited) for the new ABC2 comedy series “The Bazura Project” (which airs on September 29th) and is now in pre-production for the aforementioned Franz…

Back on AFI jury duty – and loving it!
Well, 2010 finished off with a bang! Sally again accepted the invitation to be a Juror for the 2010 AFI Awards, juggling watching and assessing nearly every Australian feature film released over the past 12 months with her rehearsal and performance commitments with the Australian Shakespeare Company’s The Comedy Of Errors (now running as the ASC’s 2010/2011 Shakespeare Under the Stars season at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne! Sally returns to Australian Shakespeare Company to reprise role in “The Comedy Of Errors” in 2011
It’s been a busy year, capped off with Sally’s return to the Australian Shakespeare Company, reprising her role as “Dowsabel” in Comedy of Errors at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne (as pictured left) for the ASC’s “Shakespeare Under The Stars” season. Yes, she gets to don that fat suit for another run, playing the “mad mountain of flesh” for another season! The show opens on December 21, 2010 and runs until March 12, 2011. Sally rejoins The Australian Shakespeare Company
No, Sally hasn’t suddenly put on a LOT of weight, she is currently appearing as “Dowsabel” in the Australian Shakespeare Company’s Comedy of Errors at the Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne (as pictured left). Described as “a mad mountain of flesh”, the amazing costume (built by Karla Erenbots) means she certainly fits the description! Sally invited to play “Zoraide” in rehearsed reading of Julia Britton’s “The Professor”
Its been a busy few months, with a couple of TV roles, new showreel and a couple of new projects. Sally also had the pleasure of being invited to play the role of the French Headmistress, “Zoraide” in a rehearsed reading of Julia Britton’s adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s The Professor at 45 downstairs, directed by Robert Chuter (Sally pictured above with Aaron J March). In other news, Sally is about to begin work on the WW2 web TV series ‘Till The Boys Come Home, set in Melbourne during 1942, adapted from her 2004 play P.S. I Love You, with her in the role of “Elsie”.

AFI Jury duty done and dusted …
Sally had the pleasure of being a Juror for the 2009 AFI Awards (no easy task by any stretch of the imagination – there was a very strong field), which meant she also attended the main awards night on Saturday, December 12th, held at the stunning Regent Theatre, Melbourne. Host, Julia Zemiro did a fabulous job, as did MC Jeremy Kewley and a great night was had by all. Pictured left is Sally with fellow actress Janet Watson-Kruse at the Awards prior to the ceremony. Getting the “Lowdown” on “The Show”
New TV roles, getting ready for a film launch and more! Sally has just finished shooting the role of “Heather” for Adam Zwar’s new ABC TV comedy series “Lowdown“, due to air next year. She has also finished filming the new Internet TV parody magazine style show Culture Pig (see above) – first episode is now online here. In other film news, the trailer for “Why Must The Show Go On?“, a mockumentary set in the world of fringe theatre, where Sally plays Artistic Director, “Madeleine Le Roy” is now online and available and presented here for your entertainment … The launch for the film is now scheduled for February 2010

Culture Pigs galore
October 2009Sally’s current TV commmercial for Home Hardware is currently airing – just look out for the redhead in green with the cute dog with a bandaged head. If you don’t watch TV, we’ve embedded the 15 second cut down of the ad right here for your convenience . The edit progresses for Why Must The Show Go On? and the film is now due for launch at the beginning of December. On the writing/producing front – two TV series ideas have now been pitched to networks and three more are in development. Writing, presenting and working with animals – it’s all go right now!
Lot’s been happening over the past few months – here’s a quick round up: Latest Film News Filming has finished on Sally’s latest film project, a comedy about the arts scene called Why Must The Show Go On? with Sally in the role of the intense and driven leading lady/Artistic Director – “Madeleine”. The film is currently in post, due for launch in September. In other film-related news, Sally is busy working with Chris Murray for Popcorn Taxi and is in the process of working on several TV and film projects with writing partner, Perri Cummings, including the webisodic “Telling Tales” (working title), in which she will also be playing the role…

“Light Bringer” and “Why Must The Show Go On?” now wrapped
So much has been happening over the past six months! Where to start!?! Latest Film News Sally has been busy working on several film projects, the most fun being the short film “Lightbringer”, where she got to play “Beatrice” (right), a 14 year old girl trapped in a 30+ woman’s body. Sound familiar? Well, add the twist of the girl being Irish, it being set at the turn of the 20th Century in rural Australia and throw in a demon or two and you have a whole other kind of film.
